Give your pet prescribed medications. Only give your pet medications that have been administered and directed by your vet in the correct dosage. Contact your vet if you're worried that the medications are affecting your pet too little or too much.
Monitor the surgical site. Look for signs of infection, such as redness, heat, swelling, pain, bruising, oozing, or odors.
If your pet has vomiting, diarrhea, refusal to eat, pain, bleeding, or swelling, notify us immediately.
Do not allow your pet to lick, scratch, rub, or chew the surgery site.
Your pet must wear an E-Collar for 10 days to prevent chewing the incision open and causing and infection.
Restrict your pet’s activity level for 10-14 days post-surgery. No running, jumping, or playing. If needed, we can provide sedatives.
Do not bathe your pet for 10-14 days.
If you pet has sutures to remove, make an appointment at the time your pet is picked up from surgery.
